We have legacy shell script monitors to alert us via email for any critical situation. We want to use PagerDuty for the Pager and Alert in our project. I have started using Event API2 and found that maximum length of summary field in the Payload is 1024 characters, and there is no way to set priority of the incident. Please update us if I have missed something here.

You are correct in that the payload.summary is limited to 1024 characters but there’s a higher amount of detail that can be sent via the payload.custom_details which is essentially the body of the event.
Priority is not something currently available to be set within the Events API but payload.severity is/. I think it would be nice to have this implemented so I’ve submitted it as a feature request to our Product Team!
